Personal
I was born and raised in Milwaukie and graduated from Clackamas High School. Today, my wife and I live here where we're raising our children in Milwaukie public schools. This community is where I grew up, where I'm raising my family, and where I'm deeply invested in the future.
Outside of work and civic involvement, you'll regularly find me running, cycling, or exploring the outdoors with my family. We believe in experiencing the community we live in, whether that's through local parks and trails, community events, or simply getting around town on foot or by bike whenever possible.
Professional
For the past 19 years, I've built a career in renewable energy, delivering projects and solutions that reduce energy costs and improve efficiency. I've led teams, managed complex projects, and worked within tight budget constraints in fast moving, high responsibility environments.
One key role included managing a 24/7 control room overseeing monitoring and troubleshooting operations for more than 16,000 wind turbines across North America. That experience required steady leadership, clear communication, and practical decision making under pressure.
In recent years, I've made a deliberate effort to apply those professional skills locally in Milwaukie. Alongside ongoing consulting work in renewable energy, I've taken on project based work supporting local businesses and downtown development.
This includes serving as project manager and owners representative for the ongoing Perry's Pharmacy building renovation in downtown Milwaukie, where I'm helping bring eight new businesses into the downtown core. I also helped secure state and city grants to make the project viable and reduce startup costs for local small business owners. As part of this work, I helped preserve the historic soda fountain, ensuring an important piece of Milwaukie's history remains part of its future.
Civic & Community Involvement
Over the past several years I've dedicated much of my time to serving Milwaukie in hands on ways. I serve on the City of Milwaukie Planning Commission, where I've helped review development proposals and provide input on housing, transportation, and long term planning decisions. I also serve on the executive board of the Downtown Alliance of Milwaukie.
I'm an assistant coach for Milwaukie High School cross country, and I started and organize the annual Milwaukie Mile, a community running event that brings residents, families, businesses, and visitors together in the heart of our city.
I was honored to be nominated for Volunteer of the Year in 2025. Over the past few years, I've focused on deepening relationships throughout the community and serving alongside the people who live here.
As a leader, I prioritize listening first and keeping an open mind toward different perspectives, lived experiences, and potential solutions. I believe good decisions come from engaging directly with people, understanding challenges from multiple viewpoints, and staying willing to learn and adapt. Whether in business, volunteer work, or public service, my goal is the same: to help build a Milwaukie that remains welcoming, connected, and livable for future generations.
